Météo France placed, Sunday, May 22, 13 departments in orange vigilance to thunderstorms. This is’“a stormy episode that is not exceptional for the season, but can generate strong gusts and hailstorms”, specifies the institute in its bulletin. The departments concerned are Gironde, Charente, Vienne, Haute-Vienne, Dordogne, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Corrèze, Creuse, Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Haute- Loire and the Loire.

Sunday morning, locally stormy showers will first cover “a large northern half of the country, without presenting a violent character”. Then in the early afternoon, new storms will form on the reliefs of Auvergne and Forez. The phenomenon will then move to the South-West, then go up towards the Centre-Loire Valley at the end of the day. He can give “strong gusts (up to 100/110 km / h) as well as hail in places”details Météo France in its bulletin.
