Some SNCF agents are working hard to make travelers smile. A team from France Télévisions met two of them.

Christophe Mazoyer drives TGVs, Romain Belemtougri is a controller. They are part of the SNCF agents who make people travel differently: with humour. With Romain, you don’t need to be on the train to get to know each other: when entering, everyone is greeted individually. “Immediately, when we call them by their first name, there is a smile that emerges, they have the impression of being known, and that personalizes their welcome”, he said. In office for two years, the 37-year-old father then challenges the passengers with humor during the journey.

On the way, two full trains, potentially 1,400 passengers to listen to it. It’s more than a theater. “The intervention is unexpected. It is original. Finally, he does a stand-up, the guy! It’s great”enthuses a man. “It sets the mood”, rejoices on his side a woman. In another train, Christophe Mazoyer also relies on jovial announcements. He has very little contact with travelers. He has been driving TGVs for ten years, but has decided to shake up his routine with announcements, and invites passengers to contact him on social networks.
