Love at first sight is the theme of the film, “Young Lovers”, which is released on Wednesday February 2. It tells the passionate story between a 70-year-old architect and a 45-year-old doctor. Fanny Ardant is overwhelming.

Twenty-five years separate them, but he is not a gigolo and she is not a cougar. Seeing each other again fifteen years after their first meeting, they will simply fall in love. Society is not kind to these atypical duos. In France, in only 16% of couples, the woman is older than the man. The director chose Fanny Ardant because the actress assumes her age. “I told him straight away, I’m going to film you with your wrinkles, with your veined hands, I’m going to film an old lady”, says Carine Tardieu.

“I think that when we get into this story, we ignore this story of age, this gap”, says comedian Melvil Poupaud. “I love the idea that it’s now or never, we’re not going to start making plans for the comet”, says Fanny Ardant. AT the origin of this moving film, the director Solveig Anspach. Died of cancer at the age of 64, she wanted it to be shot after her death by a woman. His wish came true.
