After having shone for years under the name TAL, the famous singer behind the hits “We are going forward” or “The meaning of life” is now called Taloula. In June 2021, after years of silence, the young woman made her big return to social networks to announce to her fans her change of identity in order to “start on new bases”. A name change which was accompanied by a physical transformation and a new musical positioning that was much less pop and much more soul.
To complete her transformation Taloula, who is now 34 years old, chose to go into exile in the United Kingdom, London to be precise. Two years after her departure for England and while she is selling fewer records than before, the artist has just expressed her financial difficulties.
“Watch me struggle! I’m rich and I’m getting poor in London. It’s my choice so I accept it! I’m not giving up. I am so determined to make a living from my passion. Even if it will take 10 years. I love my music.” she wrote this Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the caption of a photo of her.
If Tal’s first opuses were great successes, the singer is now struggling to bring crowds together. Honest, she also spoke about the bitter failure of her fourth album. “This 4th album, a big disaster, I was completely lost, I still didn’t listen to myself, I lied to myself. I was in something: ‘I have to make songs in French for the fans, otherwise they won’t understand anything, I’ll lose everything'” she declared during an Instagram live in 2020.
In November 2021, Taloula released a single called Find My Way. In December 2021, she then offered an EP entitled The Evolution of Taloula. His most loyal fans were now impatiently awaiting the second part of this EP.
