the wearing of a mask is compulsory outside in municipalities with more than 4,500 inhabitants

From this Thursday, December 30, the wearing of a mask becomes compulsory again in Drôme “throughout the public space of municipalities with more than 4,500 inhabitants.” The prefectural decree specifies that the obligation runs until “Monday January 24, 2022 inclusive”.

The prefect relies on “the worsening of the health situation in the department of Drôme”, whose incidence rate still exceeds 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In all, twenty municipalities are concerned in the department: Valence, Montélimar, Romans-sur-Isère, Bourg-lès-Valence, Pierrelatte, Bourg-de-Péage, Portes-lès-Valence, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, Livron-sur-Drôme, Crest, Chabeuil, Nyons, Loriol-sur-Drôme, Saint-Rambert-d’Albon, Saint-Marcel-lès-Valence, Tain-l’Hermitage, Donzère, Étoile-sur-Rhône, Chatuzange-le-Goubet and Die.

The prefectural decree indicates that failure to comply with the obligation may be punished with a fourth class fine, i.e. 135 euros.
