The three-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber alert overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday was found safe and sound, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
It was the provincial police force that triggered the alert around 3 a.m. The SQ then indicated that the child had been kidnapped in the Laurentians.

About two hours later, she reported the good news: the child and the suspect had been found safe and sound in the vicinity of Sainte-Adèle.
The police investigation is continuing, the SQ said.
The child was taken in by family members.
