Direction the natural park of the volcanoes of Auvergne, to discover the magnificent thermal baths of Mont-Dore. Built in 1817 on an old Roman temple, they attract thousands of spa guests every year, delighted to enjoy an exceptional place.

Auvergne is a historic spa destination. At the foot of the Puy de Sancy volcano, the Mont-Dore spa resort (Puy de Dome) stands majestically at 1,050 meters above sea level. Thermal water at 40 degrees from the César source is used as a drink, on medical prescription. When you smell it, you can smell ferrous metals and silica”explains Loïc Mesure, secretary general of the thermal baths of Mont-Dore – Thermal chain of the Sun. The treatment helps treat respiratory tract conditions.

The hot waters of Mont-Dore come from volcanic lava, recognized since Antiquity for their healing properties. The swimming pool is used constantly, also for pleasure. The establishment, built in 1817, is today a building classified as a historical monument. The building was built on the site of ancient Roman baths. Remains were discovered at the time of its construction, some of which are now reconstructed. The beauty of the place, it feels good, it gives an extra soul”confides Valérie Lefevre, curist.
