the teenager taken into custody admitted the facts, says the prosecutor

A 14-year-old schoolgirl was found dead on the public highway in Clessé (Saône-et-Loire). A teenager, presented as his “boyfriend” and placed in police custody since the beginning of the afternoon, admitted to having stabbed her to death on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, announced Thursday June 9 the public prosecutor of Mâcon, Eric Jallet.

The girl’s body was discovered with stab wounds around 6:40 a.m. The magistrate confirmed that the girl had been found with a knife in her throat and that she presented “several dozen stab marks, on the upper torso, on the shoulders, on the face and on the body. Eric Jallet adds that “other defense lesions obviously carried with a bladed weapon” were also noted “on the girl’s forearms”. Besides, his nose has “obviously has been broken”.

The suspect was arrested at the college on Thursday morning. Friends of the victim explained to investigators that after several breakups “their relationship resumed and since the beginning of the week they had the habit of meeting between midnight and 4 a.m. in the village of Clessé”. They also reported that the respondent “had in the past had disturbing words, evoking the fact of wanting to kill someone and in particular his girlfriend”says Eric Jallet.

These testimonies led the investigators to place the young man in custody. A medical examiner found “lesions on the hands and scratches”specifies the prosecutor before adding that this doctor took samples from his nails.

While in custody, he recognized “having agreed to a meeting with this young girl, that he had brought a knife, that he had discussed with her, that he had placed this knife under her sleeve”according to the prosecutor. The respondent then explains that after “having discussed with her, he had stabbed him three times in the neck”. According to him, the victim tried to flee and “he caught her, tried to strangle her and stabbed her again”.

The teenager has no criminal record. “The only thing we know is that he himself was the victim of violence from his father in January”underlined the public prosecutor of Mâcon. “The qualification that is retained is that of assassination, which is punishable by life imprisonment for adults. Remember that this boy is 14 years old, that the criminal majority when one is capable of discernment is at the age of 13 , that the sentences are reduced when it comes to minors”, explains Eric Jallet. The suspect thus faces up to 20 years in prison.
