Videos of tasting XXL croissants and pain au chocolat are all the rage on social networks. A trend that some bakers are trying to ride on.

The window attracts like a magnet. In front of a bakery, passers-by stop to admire the pastries. And for good reason, they are XXL in size and appeal to many tourists. When a classic croissant measures 12 cm, the giant croissant measures 70 cm. Passers-by ask: “We almost wonder if they are real or not”jokes a mother.

These oversized pastries have become real stars on social networks. The videos on which these croissants and pains aux chocolats appear have several thousand views each. A virtual success which allows a French brand to attract tourists. The baker makes around ten giant pastries every day. However, the price keeps many customers away. It costs no less than 14.90 euros for a 360 gram pain au chocolat.
