“The State supports the management’s proposal”, says Jean-Baptiste Djebbari

A major strike took place at the RATP on Friday, February 18, in the light of the presidential election. The unions denounce the too low increase in wages. “The State supports the proposal of the management of the RATP. The reality is that on pay slips, on average, we will have + 2.7% and at least 1,000 euros per agent in March”explains Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, Minister Delegate in charge of Transport, guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2.

While inflation is high, could the state not make a move? “On the Ile-de-France network, since the crisis we have never regained the level of attendance. We have gone back up to almost 85% and have come down, according to the Covid crises, to 65%. The State is currently paying several hundreds of millions of euros to Île-de-France Mobilités to balance the financial model. We are at a time when there are medium-term uncertainties on the economic model of public transport”concludes the Minister Delegate for Transport.
