Known for having lent his voice to many personalities of the Guignols including Patrick Poivre d’Arvor or Jacques Chirac, the comedian received very good salaries for decades. In office from 1988 to 2018, he indeed touched around € 20,000 per month during this period, as he himself explained to Jordan de Luxe in his show ‘The luxury moment’. Let us add to this sum, another inflow of money, namely his salary as a participant in the program “Les grands du rire” on France. Here again, we are talking about an amount between 10,000 and 15,000 € per month!
During this interview conducted in May 2020, the comedian also admitted that his situation has changed a lot. “You know when you are arrested, overnight … I have no wealth tax, I am so in debt on the castles” he declared. Yves Lecoq is indeed the owner of several castles whose maintenance is very expensive and faced with a lack of income, he was initially forced to sell an apartment in Paris and some of his farmland to pay off his debts. . “It takes 10,000 euros per month per castle. And I own four, so I have exactly 40,000 euros that leave for them every month” he explained distraught.
Yves Lecoq sells off one of his castles
And after trying to fight to keep his real estate heritage, the comedian had to sell one of his castles. As revealed by our colleagues from Closer this Friday, November 26, 2021, Yves Lecoq who hoped to pocket 18 million euros after the sale, finally had to get rid of it for “only” 9 million euros, or half of its value .
The 75-year-old comedian sold the castle of Villiers-le-Bâcle in Essonne to… Xavier Niel! The founder of the Free network has just acquired the sumptuous building which had only been used for filming for years. Something to make one happy and enough to put butter in the spinach for Yves Lecoq.
