To the delight of his fans, M.Pokora is back with a ninth studio album called “Epicentre”. In order to celebrate the release of this new opus and his 20-year career, the 37-year-old singer has decided to go on a concert tour throughout France. It is also this Saturday, June 10, 2023 that the tour was launched at the Accor La Défense in front of nearly 40,000 people.
And if the interpreter of the tube “Just a photo of you” filled his concert halls in the blink of an eye, he went through a very bad patch during which he was just struggling to sell his tickets. This is what he says in the documentary “M.Pokora, open heart”, broadcast this Thursday, June 15, 2023 on NRJ12.
The film, which traces the entire career of the singer, evokes his very glorious beginnings, but also the crossing of the desert of M.Pokora, which occurred in 2008, at the release of his third album. If his first two discs had been great successes, M.Pokora must at this time, face the mixed reception of his fans. Called “Player”, this opus is entirely sung in English, which visibly disturbs its fans. So much so that sales are lower that some dates are canceled due to lack of reservations.

In the documentary, M.Pokora then remembers not having earned any money on this tour and having had to reimburse certain expenses incurred. “I was forced to sell my apartment and I was forced to sell my car…” says the husband of Christina Milian.
Fortunately, he was able to bounce back very quickly with new singles in French, a new album, participation in “Dancing with the Stars” and numerous appearances which allowed him to reconnect with his audience.
