After two years of struggle, Florent Pagny

is in remission as he announced to Gilles Bouleau on November 16, 2023 in the news of TF1. The 62-year-old singer has been battling lung cancer since January 2021. It is on his social networks that the interpreter of My freedom of thought announced the terrible news. Despite this complicated situation, the artist always kept a smile and, above all, his morale. And this, despite two relapses. Relapses which forced him to submit to heavy treatments which did not spare him.

Indeed, this Thursday, November 30, Florent Pagny gave a long interview to our colleagues from Paris Match. During the interview, the ex-coach of The Voice

revealed the harmful effects these treatments had on his health.

“I got screwed by the last protocol. Very strangely, this chemo left me with hair and a beard but, on the other hand, it destroyed my cells”he said before specifying: “At one point, I had no more white blood cells, no more red blood cells, no more platelets. The lowest threshold for the latter is 20,000. I was down to 12,000. So the doctors gave me said: ‘There, we will have to infuse you and transfuse you.’ I felt like I was losing my strength.”

Treatments which greatly weakened him. To the extent that Florent Pagny was unable to walk. It was upon his return from Portugal that the singer really felt the effects of the treatments on his body. “When I wanted to get out of the plane, I took three steps, but I couldn’t walk anymore. I asked for a wheelchair. The night was even worse. We called the hospital the next morning “he remembered without forgetting to specify that it was a consequence to “a reaction to the product which was really strong”. Today, these bad times are part of the past and Florent Pagny remains positive even if it is not safe from relapse.
