The Secours populaire organizes its traditional egg hunt in Dijon

This Wednesday, April 13, 2022, more than 200 children looked for the chocolate eggs placed by Secours Populaire volunteers in the grounds of the Château de Pouilly, in Dijon. Other activities were offered: trampoline, archery, shuffle everything or magic show. The profits of the day (the “hunting permit” at three euros and the refreshment bar) are donated to the international actions of the Secours populaire.

Have fun for a good cause

“We preferred to highlight the festive side of this day”explains Mickaël Mouard, the deputy director of Secours populaire de Dijon. It must be said that after three years of cancellation (one because of the weather, two because of the Covid-19), the event was expected. The idea is to make children aware of this international solidarity, in particular via the Copains du monde club.

Especially since the association also invited Ukrainian families to join in the fun : “we wanted to invite them today so that they change their minds”, says Mickaël Mouard. For Anastasia Ganziuk, one of the founders of the association Aidons Ukraine Dijon, this kind of event is essential to help the morale of the refugees: “they need to rediscover the feeling of security, to spend pleasant moments even if we cannot fully enjoy them”.
