Here we go for a weekend of legislative elections with historic stakes. The French are called to the polls for the second round of voting, Saturday, July 6, in several overseas departments and on the American continent, on the eve of the opening of polling stations in mainland France and in the other territories concerned.
Voters in Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a small French community off the coast of Canada, opened the ball at noon (Paris time). They will be followed by residents of Guyana, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French people living on the American continent and French Polynesia.
In New Caledonia, the second round will begin at 10 p.m. (Paris time). French people living in mainland France and in other overseas and foreign territories will vote on Sunday. For some expatriates, the matter is already settled: they were able to vote online between Wednesday and Thursday.
