The schoolboy who slapped one of his teachers on Monday, April 22, in Toulouse during class will have to follow educational measures while awaiting his judgment in June, France Bleu Occitanie reported on Wednesday, April 24.
The 14-year-old teenager, in 3rd grade at Bellevue College in Toulouse, is the subject of a complaint. He had been in police custody since the incident. He appeared before the children’s judge on Wednesday, after being referred to the juvenile prosecutor’s office. The judgment is under advisement and will be pronounced on June 3, but the judge has already ordered a child psychiatric assessment and issued a provisional educational judicial measure. While awaiting his judgment, the schoolboy – who has no criminal record – will therefore have to participate in integration activities and receive treatment. The family will also be accompanied, specifies the juvenile prosecutor’s office.
Late Monday morning, the student slapped his technology teacher four times in the middle of class before threatening to “smoke” him. The teacher reprimanded the student because he was disrupting his class. The teacher and the head of the establishment filed a complaint. The rector also granted functional protection to the professor currently on sick leave. According to the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office, the teacher received two days of ITT. The student has been excluded from the establishment as a precautionary measure and will be summoned to a disciplinary council.
