The physical contours of the Santé Québec agency are emerging. The government confirms that its head office will be in Quebec and that approximately 700 positions currently at the Ministry of Health will be transferred there.
The head office of Santé Québec will be located at 930 chemin Sainte-Foy, a building already housing offices of the Ministry of Health. The latter points out, however, that offices will also be set up in Montreal, on Union Avenue.
The ministry further estimates that 700 of its employees (including executives) will be transferred to the agency. They were informed of this “a few weeks” ago, he said in a press release.
This transfer, he specifies, will be done in two stages: first the executives on June 17 and then all the others, in September.
The government still plans to reveal the identity of the organization’s president and CEO by the end of April. This announcement must coincide with the official creation of the state corporation.
