The Rocket has the upper hand over the Crunch 6-2

(Laval) Two goals from Cameron Hillis and an evening of three points from Peter Abbandonato allowed the Laval Rocket to win 6-2 over the Syracuse Crunch, Wednesday night at Place Bell.

Hillis set the tone in the first period by netting an unassisted first goal at 1:47 before scoring again 12 minutes later to launch the Rocket well forward.

Gabriel Dumont closed the gap for the Crunch to 2-1 before the end of the period.

In the second, the visitors changed goalkeepers and Abbandonato took charge of welcoming Corbin Kaczperski by scoring from the 58thand second of play. Then, Louie Belpedio added it in the middle of the period to make it 4-2.

Gabriel Bourque and Joël Teasdale rounded out the Rocket’s score.

Kevin Poulin earned the win in goal by stopping 23 shots. The win ended a two-game losing streak for the Rocket (18-13-3-0), which also secured the 4and rank in the American League North section ahead of the Crunch (17-17-3-1).
