The RN carries out “ant work” for the next elections

Senatorial, municipal… and presidential: the National Rally has already set itself very concrete political objectives. Audrey Tison’s policy brief.

The National Rally is taking advantage of the parliamentary truce to continue preparing for the next deadlines, senatorial and then municipal elections, it is a real “ant work“that leads the RN. The nearest deadline is the senatorial elections in September.

The flame party has invested almost all of its candidates. And now, it is necessary to campaign with the great voters. Municipal, departmental and regional councilors vote in this ballot. However, the challenge is to meet this diffuse electorate.

So, the 88 RN deputies are called to the rescue to organize meetings and one-on-one meetings with these local elected officials, especially those who do not have a political label. To better argue: the party is in the process of completing a synthesis of the legislative proposals and amendments that the RN has brought to the Assembly, in order to show what its elected officials are likely to bring.

“The more we push the doors of town halls, the more we will manage to push the door of the Elysée”

In this election, the RN has identified three priority departments on the basis of the scores in previous elections: these are Nord, Pas-de-Calais and Moselle. “We take this election very seriously.“, slips one of the party executives, who does not dare to set a quantified objective. “Given the political atmosphere, we think we have more elected than last time“, that is to say two senators, an achievable objective a priori.

If the RN makes so many efforts, it is also to prepare for the municipal elections in three years. Raking the ground today, it makes it possible to identify “RN-compatible” elected officials for this deadline. But the party is also working on its own troops, identifying elected municipal officials ready to re-enter and registering the ambitions of activists who wish to run. The latter thus receive a first piece of advice:Start now towing in your city and showing up at all the events“.

To encourage other vocations, the federations are crisscrossed by party executives, in particular by the deputy Edwige Diaz who is in charge of local establishment. At each departmental meeting, she repeats this message: “Before 2027, there is 2026. The more town hall doors we push, the more we will be able to push the door of the Élysée“. It is a question of arousing vocations and of sowing a seed, in particular among new members who will be ripe to present themselves in two or three years.
