the return of the Crouchaux cyclo-cross with Lilian Calmejane on the bill

Last year the health situation deprived cyclo-cross enthusiasts of a famous race, the Crouchaux cyclo-cross in Coulounieix-Chamiers. This year, the event will take place on Sunday, December 19. The volunteers of the ECTC24 (the Entente Cycliste Trélissac Coulounieix Chamiers) worked hard to organize this 14th edition. A competition that has acquired its letters of nobility thanks in particular to the organization of a UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) round in 2019.

Professionals in the discipline particularly appreciate the three-kilometer hilly site through the undergrowth of Crouchaux. The proof, they return with pleasure. This will be the case this year of Lilian Calmejane. The pro rider of the AG2R CitroënTeam team finished second behind Clément Venturini in the last edition in 2019. Miguel Martinez, world champion and Olympic mountain bike champion also comes back. He won the Crouchaux cyclo-cross in 2015. This year, he will be accompanied by his son Lenny, who is 18, has just signed for the professionals in the Groupama-Française des Jeux team. The young cyclist finished 3rd this year at the European Junior Men’s Championships. Among amateurs, two Périgourdins, Audric Pasquet and Anthony Courrière will participate in the race. there will be a total of 45 riders on the start line.

There are several races scheduled for Sunday December 19:

  • 9:30 am: Dordogne cycling school championship: from pre-licensed to minimal (6 to 14 years old)
  • 1:15 p.m .: start of the cadet race
  • 2 p.m .: start of the junior and women’s race
  • 3 p.m .: start of the pros, hopefuls and seniors race

Practical information: access to the site will be exclusively via the Pont-du-cerf, via the Cré @ Vallée Nord car park. The presentation of the health pass is compulsory.
