The long-awaited duel between the movement of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Nupesand the presidential majority of Emmanuel Macron should take place in the second round of the legislative elections, sunday June 19. At the end of the first round, the projections announce a majority for Together! with 255 to 296 potential seats. The Nudes can hope for between 150 and 190 deputies, although this figure is strongly contested by the left-wing coalition.
The clash between the Nudes and Together! is now done 😀n 272 constituencies, the duel will be a direct confrontation between the candidates of these two movements. There will also be eight triangles with three candidates in the second round. For the other parties, it is more difficult. The Republicans can hope for between 50 and 80 seats while the National Rally can get its own group, as it should get between 20 and 45 seats.
Among our sources
For this subject on the results of the legislative elections, we consulted the results published by the Ministry of the Interior as well as the publications on the social networks of the leaders of the NUPES (on tweeter in particular). We then asked the services of the Minister of the Interior to obtain a response, which was sent to us in writing (SMS); here it is in its entirety:
1. It is the Nupes campaign management which, by email sent to the Ministry of the Interior on June 8, 2022, listed all the candidates to whom the “Nupes” nuance should be attributed. In this list, however very complete, there was no candidate overseas. These candidates do not appear on their official website either. https://nupes-2022.fr/les-candidats/
2. In addition, beyond that, 3 candidates initially invested by the Nupes but who had declared that they wanted to give up this investiture were counted as various left. They are Hervé SAULIGNAC in the 1st district of Ardèche, Dominique POTIER in the 5th district of Meurthe-et-Moselle, and Joël AVIRAGNET in the 8th district of Haute-Garonne.
3. The same is true for the presidential majority. Damien Abad, who we can legitimately think is supported by “Ensemble”, is counted in Divers Right. This is also the case of Dominica MICHEL, DIV candidate in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon and Marie-Luce Penchard in Martinique, supported by the majority but nuanced DVC.
Non-exhaustive list.
