The Resto du Coeur and the mayors of Vaucluse officially join forces

The Restaurants of the Heart of Vaucluse are associated with the association of mayors of Vaucluse to facilitate their relations with the mayors of the department. The Restos du Coeur served 2 million meals last year from their warehouses in Orange and Avignon. 760 volunteers are mobilized in food distribution centers in 17 municipalities. The agreement signed between the association of mayors of Vaucluse and the Restaurants du Coeur should facilitate the loan of premises or the distribution of food aid.

Take advantage of municipal buildings and municipal resources

Patrick Thabard, administrator of the Resto du Coeur in Vaucluse, hopes to improve “renting the centers is expensive. We want elected officials to put premises available free of charge. we also hope to benefit from the websites of the municipalities to better communicate on our actions. We are also counting on the relationships of local elected officials with their local producers to recover food”.

Encourage elected officials to work better with the Restos du Coeur

Pierre Gonzalves, the co-president of the association of mayors of Vaucluse, welcomes the agreement which guarantees a framework to encourage the elected officials of Vaucluse to “support the model action of the Restaus du Coeur, essential after these years of Covid”.
