The red stamp will disappear in 2023. To send priority mail, you will now have to go through the internet. La Poste is reviewing its system to adapt to paper mail.

The red stamp will disappear on January 1, 2023. It gives way to the digital stamp. French users are divided. “I find it a bit of a shame. Finally, it always goes in this direction”laments a man. “I’m still over 80 years old, but I have a computer, I manage. But not everyone is in this case”, adds another. Another is delighted to limit waiting times at La Poste.

You will now have to go to the La Poste website. The letter must be written and sent online, with a maximum of three attachments. The digital mail will be printed in the sorting center closest to your home, then distributed by the postman. It will also be possible to go to his post office to scan his documents on machines. Transport costs had become too high for the company. The digital red letter will cost 1.49 euros including envelope and paper, which is 6 cents more than the current priority stamp. The green stamp will take one more day for delivery, but its price will remain the same.
