Just an improvement
Corinne Touzet returns to Cannes to present “Just an improvement”a play of which she admires the multi-award-winning author and two-time Oscar-winning screenwriter (The Hours, The Reader), David Hare takes a caustic look at the Flower Power years and paints a cheerful portrait of women. They will not hesitate to shake up the codes of their common history and to question the roles that have been imposed on them.
In a small house on the Isle of Wight, two women as opposite as Yin and Yang meet. Their only common point? A man ! Which they both liked. The confrontation between one, the wife, and the other, the mistress, is explosive: with incisive and passionate dialogues, the two protagonists unravel before our eyes the threads of an intimate story that they shared their body defending.
This text dissects the feeling of love and pinpoints male/female relationships in a beam of light, while an emotional journey comes to life on stage that resonates with many echoes of our collective sensibility.
Cannes is the first date of my tour, it makes me anxious and happy at the same time
