Interpol launches campaign to find the identities of 46 women whose bodies have been found. To talk about it, Franck Dannerolle, head of the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons, which coordinates the initiative in France, was the guest of “Autrement dit” on France Info this Tuesday, October 8.

Franck Dannerolle, head of the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons, coordinates a campaign launched by Interpol, called “Identify Me”. She is asking for help from the general public to identify the bodies of 46 women, including seven in France. “It is perhaps a somewhat new approach for the French public to take these steps to call for witnesses (…) someone can relate an anecdote, recognize a tattoo, a piece of jewelry, of a person who has disappeared”explains the guest. A campaign had already been launched. It had made it possible to resolve a case of a victim discovered in Belgium.

Franck Dannerole also reminds the public that it is important to look at all files, including those outside France. The oldest file dates from 1982 and the most recent from 2021. “We feel that there are still things to be done in these cases, to relaunch the investigations, to take advantage of new investigation techniques”defends the guest. Currently, the homicide clearance rate is 80%.
