Radio host Sébastien Cauet was presented to an investigating judge with a view to possible indictment, Friday May 24, as part of a judicial investigation opened for sexual assault and rape, announced the Paris prosecutor’s office . The prosecutor requested his indictment for three rapes and a sexual assault committed between 1997 and 2012. The 52-year-old host, removed from the NRJ antenna, who had been placed in police custody on Wednesday, contests the entire these accusations.

The investigating judge was asked to investigate in particular the rapes of a 16-year-old girl in Geneva (Switzerland) in 2014, of a thirty-year-old girl in Paris in 2011 and of a 15-year-old girl in Paris in 1997. Regarding concerns the sexual assault, it was allegedly committed in December 2012 to the detriment of a 17-year-old woman. The prosecution specifies that other facts were excluded from the investigation “because of their prescription”.

Through his lawyers, Sébastien Cauet insisted, on Thursday, on “recall the principle of presumption of innocence”. “The time for justice is not the time for the media”added his advice, calling on the media to “restraint”. Animator claims to be a victim of cyberharassment, slanderous denunciation and attempted extortion. He filed a complaint, leading to the opening of two preliminary investigations in Nanterre.
