Could the police have prevented the murder of Aurélie Langelin, 33? The family lawyer is convinced. The conclusions of the IGPN, the police force, are particularly awaited. The Minister of the Interior seized it eight months after the case.

Aurélie Langelin, 33, died under the blows of her companion in Auby (North) on May 31, 2021. She leaves an orphan little girl and an inconsolable mother. Before her death, the young woman had filed several complaints against her companion from whom she was separated. On the day of his death, she went to his house after he begged her to come. He lives under house arrest with an electronic bracelet. A violent argument breaks out and blows rain down. Several neighbors call the police and five BAC officials show up at the home. They come across an alcoholic couple, the young woman is on the ground with a swollen face. But the police left without questioning the ex-companion and will not return. The young woman died a few hours later.

They drafted a simple handbook. “Note that we saw this lady in the apartment, drunk, with a blue mark under her left eye, she did not report any violence. The discussion in the couple is calm and serene”, is it written in this document, which France 3 obtained. The family lawyer filed a complaint against these police officers who, according to him, committed a fault, which he equates to “failure to assist a person in danger”. For the victim’s mother, this complaint should not go unanswered. The police force has just opened an investigation to assess the responsibility of the officials. The ex-companion is currently incarcerated and indicted for aggravated murder.
