“Priority, we want to ensure that it is the French who have access to care, and foreigners in a legal situation”defends Friday September 27 on franceinfo the deputy LR Vincent Jeanbrun, also mayor of Haÿ-les-Roses, in Val-de-Marne, and spokesperson for the Republican right. The Minister of the Interior LR Bruno Retailleau announced that he wanted to return to state medical aid and transform it into emergency medical aid. “The aim will not be so much to eliminate it, but to transform it”, Vicent Jeanbrun justifies himself. Eight former health ministers sign an article in Le Monde to defend state medical aid.
According to him, the AME “is terribly misused and there is a lot of exaggeration and abuse”. He assures that for emergency care, “of course, it’s a question of humanity”people will be taken care of by the new system of access to care for foreigners in an irregular situation. On the other hand, he wants to change the “question of covering glasses, dental care 100%”because this “ask a question”.
