The Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) offers up to $5,000 to families to defray the costs of programs such as sports-studies or the international baccalaureate.
According to the political party, this commitment, the total value of which is $425 million, is equivalent to free admission for these particular educational programs in the public school system.
In June, the Caquiste government announced this year $200 reimbursement for the costs paid by parents with a child enrolled in these programs. The total of this compensation was estimated at 28 million.
In 2020, the Ministry of Education estimated that the average cost of these programs, among which we find the International Baccalaureate, Arts-Studies, Sports-Studies, amounts to $1220.
The financial contribution required from the parents of a child enrolled in a specific educational project of the public school system can go up to $14,190 per year.

According The gallery, the PLQ lost another candidate in Estrie, Ratiba Fares, who was running in the riding of Mégantic. This withdrawal comes a few days after that of Estella Normandeau in Richmond.
