The parent company of Donald Trump’s platform, Truth Social, files lawsuits against twenty media outlets

A “deliberate, malicious and coordinated attack” against Truth Social. This is the accusation brought by Donald Trump’s lawyers, Tuesday, November 21, against twenty media outlets. According to the American group Bloomberg, they are accused of having reported that the Truth Social platform, launched by the former President of the United States in 2022 following his ban from Facebook and Twitter, had lost $73 million. . In state court in Sarasota County, Florida, lawyers for Trump Media & Technology Group said that figure was “a pure fabrication”.

Donald Trump is demanding 1.5 billion dollars (nearly 1.38 billion euros) in damages from these press outlets. Among them are the British daily The Guardian and Reuters, which cited in an article a regulatory filing filed by the Trump group’s merger partner, Digital World Acquisition Corporation, a specialist acquisition company. A few days later, Reuters made corrections to its article. For now, representatives of Guardian and Reuters declined to comment publicly on the subject.
