The jury of the 77th Festival met on Saturday evening around American director Greta Gerwig, during a ceremony presented by actress Camille Cottin.

The film Anora by American Sean Baker received the Palme d’Or on Saturday May 25, during the closing ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. “We have to make films so that they come out in theaters”reacted the 53-year-old director after receiving his prize.
This is not the first time that the American has been selected at Cannes. But this time the Festival tasted the vitality of its thriller which moves from the underbelly of New York to the luxury villas of Russian oligarchs. This tale is served by a revelation, actress Mikey Madison, in the role of a sex worker.
The jury was gathered around the American director Greta Gerwig and the evening hosted by French actress Camille Cottin. The Jury Prize was awarded to Emilia Perez by Jacques Audiard. The four actors Adriana Paz, Zoe Saldana, Karla Sofia Gascon and Selena Gomez received the Best Actress Award for the same film.
