The owner’s tour | The best of both worlds at Île des Soeurs

Built in 2010 on a favorite piece of land ideally located on Île des Sœurs, this prestigious and timeless residence has seen the growth of a family with three children, who wish to leave it today for a very special project…

When they saw the location of this land, the owners were immediately won over. “We were looking for a peaceful place to raise our children, close to the city center. This land is located in a private street of three houses and is backed by a protected forest, where nothing will ever be built. We fell in love because it’s the best of both worlds! “, says Annie Côté, the mistress of the place.

The couple then contacted the Jean Houde Group, which specializes in prestigious residences, because they have an eye for detail and wanted a tailor-made habitat made with quality materials. “We also wanted the house to be at the cutting edge of technology. It is equipped with a geothermal system which keeps it well tempered in all seasons and it is fully automated”, continues Mr.me Coast.

Perfect in every way

In addition to its technical attractions and high-end layout, this four-storey residence is very functional. Upstairs, the large entrance opens onto a bright and friendly open area for everyday family life. The kitchen, with its 7-foot island, is worthy of that of a great chef and includes a superb butcher’s block made by Giroux & fils cabinetry.

On the second floor are organized three good-sized bedrooms, including a master suite with private bathroom, a wardrobe type walk-in for sir and another for madam. “There is one detail that I absolutely insisted on, and that was putting the laundry room on this level; it’s really practical”, underlines Mr.me Coast.

A loft furnished at the highest level meets different needs, since it notably includes a bedroom and a bathroom where grandparents occasionally stay. As for the basement, it has long hosted a nanny who had her bedroom and her bathroom there. “She took care of the children when they were little and when she left, we removed the partition to enlarge the playroom. ” Extensive mud room and a large double garage where you can wash cars complete the house.

Outside, the very intimate backyard is exceptional in an urban environment.

We have a hyper resistant Brazilian wood patio, a spa, a 24 ft swimming pool, a garden shed and a lounge area with a gas fireplace which we enjoy late in the season.

Annie Cote

Inside and out, the place seems idyllic and Annie Côté reveals that it was the house of their dreams. But then, why sell it?

Take the road

During the pandemic, the family traveled by motor vehicle for a year. “We had a bit of a taste for adventure and, on our return, we made the decision with the children to change our way of life and to leave again. Now they are 13, 12 and 9 years old. We bought another RV, a 36 ft Class A, says Mme Coast. Also, the pandemic made us think a lot about the values of life and we chose to take advantage of it and then see the country with the children day by day. We did distance school the first time we left and it went really well. »

Her ideal home will leave her with many happy memories and she assures that future buyers will find absolute comfort there, in a privileged environment.
