“The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan”, directed by Martin Bourboulon, hits theaters on Wednesday April 5. With a budget of 72 million euros, the feature film intends to compete with American blockbusters.

They are the new superheroes of French cinema. François Civil, Vincent Cassel, Romain Duris and Pio Marmai crossed the streets of Paris on horseback to promote the film The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan, in theaters Wednesday, April 5. The mythical role of D’Artagnan is played by François Civil, who realizes a childhood dream. “All the young people, in the playground, imagined themselves with a wooden stick to be a musketeer. […] It’s a work that has stood the test of time, it’s a classic“, indicates the actor.

“One for all and all for one”

Since the invention of cinema, the cult novel by Alexandre Dumas has had around forty versions. The opportunity to revisit the initiatory journey of the young D’Artagnan and the intrigues at the court of Louis XIII. This time, the budget is colossal: 72 million euros. The objective is to compete with American blockbusters. In the film, the sets are 100% French. Also, 2,000 17th century inspired outfits were produced. Here, the musketeers are very modern. Only their motto has not changed: “One for all and all for one”.
