This concert is part of the Les Boréales Festival and it is natural that the Danish composer Carl Nieslen will be honored, and he is also a fervent admirer of Mozart.
On the concert menu, conductor Jean Deroyer chose a mirror work by Nielsen, a clarinet concerto, with soloist Florent Pujuila. Nielsen was born in 1865 and died in 1931, so he bridges the gap between traditional romantic music and modernism.
For the part of the concert devoted to Mozart, a Divertimento will be played, a work that is little known and seldom performed, and which was composed at the age of 17.
