We will still have to wait for Bordeaux. The Ministry of Sports, which was to meet the Bordeaux leaders on Friday July 22 as part of their rescue attempt, finally preferred to postpone this meeting to a date when “the remedies will be exhausted”learned AFP from the entourage of Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.
“We don’t want to take any risk of seeing them before the conciliation decision”it was said around the Minister of Sports, while the leaders of the Girondins were to meet members of the minister’s cabinet on Friday. “We are not opposed to seeing them, our door remains open, our phones too, but we prefer to wait until all avenues of appeal have been exhausted. We will never interfere in the ongoing proceedings”they said.
The leaders of the scapular club pleaded their case on Thursday before the conciliators of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) to try to obtain a favorable opinion on their retention in Ligue 2. The opinion of the conciliators is expected in the next few hours or even days.
If the request for conciliation gave birth to a favorable opinion for Bordeaux, the file would be referred at the beginning of next week to the Executive Committee of the French Federation (FFF) which would have to decide urgently before the resumption of Ligue 2, Saturday July 30. Otherwise, the club would only have the option of filing a summary procedure before the Administrative Court.
