Michelin Guide inspectors are currently crisscrossing Quebec to determine which restaurants will be part of the inaugural 2025 selection. The entire province thus becomes the 12the destination in North America to aim for the stars.
Let us recall that the emblematic gastronomic guide awards one, two or three stars to the most deserving establishments. The Bib Gourmand selection highlights more casual restaurants offering quality cuisine at moderate prices. As for the Green Star, it is awarded to restaurants that make ecological efforts.
With Toronto and Vancouver already having their Michelin Guide for a few years, it was obvious, despite some disagreements in the industry, that the stars would one day arrive in Quebec. Let’s remember that the Michelin Guide team does not come to a destination on its own. The organization must be solicited and well paid for its visit. Initially, it was a group of about fifteen restaurateurs from Quebec City who pushed hardest to attract Michelin.
