“I apologize,” declared, Thursday, September 19, the mayor of the commune of Mazan (Vaucluse), after his remarks appearing to minimize the rapes committed against Gisèle Pelicot, reports France Bleu Vaucluse.

“It could have been worse, there were no children involved, no women died,” the mayor said a few days ago in an interview with the BBC. “It will be difficult for the family, but they will be able to rebuild. After all, no one died.”he added.

“I made comments that may have caused offence. I am sincerely sorry for that,” he declared this Thursday. “I apologize to anyone who was hurt by these comments,” adds Louis Bonnet, who explains that he receives threats and insults.
