Martial Lochon, the mayor of Bailleau-le-Pin (Eure-et-Loir), deplored Tuesday June 18 on franceinfo a “horrible accident” after the death of seven people in a traffic accident which occurred Tuesday early evening in this town located south of Chartres. Two people were also injured in the collision which involved three cars.

According to Martial Lochon, “speed” is part “aggravating circumstances” of the accident which took place on the RD 921, “a very busy route” with “10,000 vehicles per day”. At this point, the road is “landlocked with embankments on each side”. “When there are accidents, it’s often dramatic. There’s no escape. It ends face-to-face.”

The mayor of Bailleau-le-Pin testifies to having received “collapsed families” after the announcement of the number of victims. “The shock was very violent. The chances of surviving were almost non-existent.” Martial Lochon ensures that the town hall “just try to put a little humanity” and “support the devastated families”. The mayor finally greets “the firefighters who are extraordinary and the police who do everything that needs to be done.”
