After the death of Mathis, a 15-year-old teenager during a brawl on Saturday evening in Châteauroux (Indre), the mayor of the city called on parents on Monday April 29 to address the issue of children’s education. “I do not understand and I cannot understand that parents let a child go out after he has been twice arrested and implicated in cases of violence”declared Gil Avérous (various right) during a press briefing.
For the chosen one, “there’s a whole section” related to “the education of adolescents, the means made available to justice and communities, and the obligations to remind parents to put back on the table”. And to insist: “I believe this is work that is truly urgent and more than useful to our society.”
For Gil Avérous, this drama is “a hard blow for Châteauroux.” “A crime in the street involving 15-year-olds is not a reflection of our city”he commented.
