A man who tried to intervene during a robbery during a poker game in a house in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) has succumbed to his injuries, France Bleu La Rochelle learned Friday from the public prosecutor. On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, two hooded and armed men burst into the middle of a poker game to get the bag containing the money collected to participate in the tournament. After threatening the tournament organizer with a first shot fired in the air, the man was shot in the head.
The bullet went through the skull. The victim was transferred to the Poitiers University Hospital with a life-threatening prognosis. The prosecutor of La Rochelle, Arnaud Laraize, announced this Friday that the victim died last night. The perpetrators are actively being sought. The investigation has been entrusted to the police officers of the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS), a branch of the judicial police.
