While Sunday, June 19, many majority voters will have to choose between candidates from the Nupes and the National Rally, Emmanuel Macron did not comment on the issue. A situation that satisfies Nathalie Ribeoiro-Billet, far-right candidate in the 1st constituency of the Somme.
The Nupes (New popular, ecological and social union) and the National Rally will oppose each other in 59 constituencies during the second round of the legislative elections, Sunday June 19. The candidates of La République en Marche, of the presidential majority, sometimes have difficulty giving their voting instructions. “A candidate like Mr. Ruffin, who is, once again, an insurrectionary candidate, extremely violent in his remarks, is not a good chic candidate, good kind”believes Pascal Rifflart, candidate Together!, eliminated in the 1st constituency of the Somme.
Some of his voters will vote all the same for the candidate Nupes, in order to prevent the RN from passing. “If Macron does not want me to pass, it is logical. Because I will fight day and night (…) against Macron, against his retirement at 65”, says François Ruffin, Nupes candidate in the 1st constituency of the Somme. For the RN candidate, Nathalie Ribeoiro-Billet, the call not to choose is a good surprise: “He did not call directly to vote Mr. Ruffin, so somewhere, he leaves the field open”.
