(Toronto) Players from the Montreal team Marie-Philip Poulin, Ann-Renée Desbiens, Laura Stacey and Erin Ambrose are among the 24 players from the Professional Women’s Hockey League who will take part in a three-on-three tournament, as part of of the National Hockey League All-Star Game.
The players will take part in a 20-minute match on Thursday 1er February in Toronto. They were divided into two groups, named Team King and Team Kloss. Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss, who were behind the creation of the LPHF.
Cassie Campbell-Pascall will lead Team King, while Meghan Duggan will lead Team Kloss.
Poulin and Desbiens will play on Team King with Blayre Turnbull (Toronto), Savannah Harmon (Ottawa), Hilary Knight, Alina Mueller, Megan Keller, Aerin Frankel (Boston), Ella Shelton (New York), Kendall Coyne Schofield , Kelly Pannek and Lee Stecklein (Minnesota).
Stacey and Ambrose will team up with Sarah Nurse, Renata Fast, Jocelyne Larocque (Toronto), Emily Clark, Brianne Jenner, Emerance Maschmeyer (Ottawa), Taylor Heise, Nicole Hensley (Minnesota), Abby Roque and Alex Carpenter (New York ).
The players chosen have totaled 146 Olympic medals and 46 others in the World Championship.
The first season of the LPHF got underway on 1er last January.
