The LouiSimone Guirandou Gallery in Abidjan presents “Duality”, an exhibition of works by the eclectic artist Pedro Pires

“Duality” is the Luso-Angolan artist’s first personal exhibition in Côte d’Ivoire.

Born in 1978 in Luanda, the capital of Angola, Pedro Pires uses different mediums – sculpture, drawing, photography, video and installation – to bring out new figurative meanings of identity in our society. His works are presented as part of the exhibition Duality, on view until February 12, 2022 at the LouiSimone Guirandou Gallery in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

In his latest work, Pedro Pires once again takes a close interest in questions of identity and stereotypes directly related to education, history and institutions. A particular interest which comes to him from his dual cultural affiliation, African and European.
