The Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) will look into the violence that erupted during the play-off match between Saint-Etienne and Auxerre (1-1, 4-5 on penalties), at the Geoffroy stadium Guichard, Sunday May 29. Several hundred supporters invaded the field and propelled smoke towards the stands and the CRS, after the relegation to Ligue 2 of AS Saint-Etienne.
“The decision will be pronounced at the end of the session of Thursday June 23, 2022 during which the instructor will submit his report”, explains the LFP in a press release. For this match, the Jean-Snella stand was closed, as a result of the interruption of the match against Monaco at the end of April.
