Beautiful collaboration that that of the artist Antoine Saint-Laurent with La Maison Simons. The one who describes himself as an artist, a painter, a poet and a dreamer transposes his universe filled with flowers and colors onto clothes. We were able to see the host ofOD in the West, Jay Du Temple, sporting one of his creations last fall. Usually unique and exclusive pieces, painted by hand, the works of Antoine Saint-Laurent have been reproduced on t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies from the Simons Twik collection. Picking up on the artist’s approach, Simons also invited him to paint 42 unique jeans that went on sale on the retailer’s website earlier this week. “In my dreams grown-ups don’t exist. Because grown-ups always lack color,” he wrote on his website. This is the opportunity to wear it.

When designer Noémie Vaillancourt de Noémiah and artist Estée Preda meet, vaporous clothes imbued with flowers and poetry are born. This new collection of seven pieces, called “Cut flowers”, is a nod to folk art, petit point and the needlework of our grandmothers. “Spring quickly crept into the conversation between Estée and me, the vines bloomed and the butterflies hatched. The dresses, tops and accessories are cut from natural materials, ie jacquard and silk organza as well as linen. All parts are made to order, in Montreal.

The Braderie de mode québécoise soon in Montreal and Quebec
After a face-to-face return expected last fall, the Braderie de mode québécoise will hold its spring edition at the Bonsecours Market in Montreal, from April 7 to 10, and at the Quebec City Cruise Terminal, from April 28 to April 1.er may. Note that the Gatineau event has been postponed. Nearly 80 Quebec designers will offer pieces from their new and old collections at prices reduced by 20% to 80%. Quebec designers having been hit hard by the pandemic, the producer of the Braderie and designer Anne de Shalla wanted to set up a fundraiser for the Health and Recovery Learning Center (CASR). Based on the Recovery College model implemented in 22 countries, the CASR was set up in 2020 by the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières to offer training on well-being and mental health, free and open to all. Several designers will make a donation to CASR based on sales made during the event. Guidatour, partner of the Braderie, will also donate $8 for each guided tour ticket of Old Montreal that will be purchased by April 7.
