Be careful in the South-West. The Gers, Hautes-Pyrénées, Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques were placed on orange “thunderstorms” and “rain-flood” alert on Saturday June 8. A “intense rain-storm episode” is expected in these four departments from 6 p.m., according to the Météo-France bulletin.

On Saturday evening, these storms will be “associated with high electrical and rain intensities”even if for the moment, “uncertainties remain” on the location of storms “the most virulent”. Hail is also expected.

Rainfall accumulations of 40 to 60 mm could be reached “in a relatively short time”, or even very locally 60 to 90 mm, according to Météo-France. Over the entire episode, they could reach or even exceed 100 mm. Storms “will gradually fade after midnight”.
