Monday 1er August, the 1 p.m. news presents the night market in La Rochelle, in Charente-Maritime. Here, more than 50 exhibitors gather during the summer, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

In La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), the night market is held every Saturday and Wednesday with around fifty exhibitors. Jams, craft beers, local creations and products, there is something for everyone. Valentin Spirkel is a beekeeper. He studied to be a carpenter but followed his father into beekeeping. Together, they made all their hives.

A search for authenticity

Customers like to share with merchants to learn how they work. “At night markets, people take more time to look at the products and chat”, remarks Aurélien Pascaud, “Ail noir des Claires” merchant. Tourists seek authenticity with night markets. At 11 p.m., a jewelry designer still has many people to serve. “I make tailor-made items for people who ask me for patterns, prints, first names”, explains Marianne Magnier, creator of “Choux bijoux bijoux”. The night market is held in La Rochelle until August 31.
