The La Milesse leisure center near Le Mans refuses children for lack of activity leaders

The La Milesse leisure center near Le Mans is looking for activity leaders. Due to the lack of staff, the establishment had to refuse children. Normally, the center welcomes around 450 children a year aged 3 to 12 with a dozen people every Wednesday and during school holidays. But since the start of the school year, around forty children have not been able to benefit from the center because at least four people are missing to accommodate them.

The recreation center appeals to young people who want to engage in animation and the social center can take care of part of the Bafa training.

The young people went to other jobs

For nearly two years, with the health crisis of the Coronavirus, young people from Sarthe who wanted to get into animation have not been able to pass their Bafa. Suddenly, there are those who are now waiting to be able to get the exam. And then there are others who have turned to other odd jobs, particularly in mass distribution, a sector that has not stopped. Suddenly, the Milesse leisure center finds itself faced with a lack of activity leaders. Its director, Brigitte Le Loët, would like to recruit young people who commit to the school year in order to create links both with the staff of the center and also with the children. The La Milesse leisure center offers childcare services for children aged three to twelve every Wednesday and during school holidays. Manual, cultural and sporting activities with outings during the holidays.

To be an animator, you must have Bafa. You can send your application by email ([email protected]). It can go very quickly. You can have an interview and a week after working at the center.

Keep the young animators at least during the school year

To attract young people to the Milesse leisure center, the social center can take care of part of the Bafa training. Aid of 200 euros which can be added to that of CAF, and that of the government which will come into force from next year. With this help, the young can thus do his Bafa training alternately with the center. For Stéphanie Varlet, the director of the social center, “It is a real asset because with this training, the young can commit over time”.
