The Kangoo-Jump in Dijon, a new sporting activity to “burn up to 1,000 calories”

The international day of women’s sport takes place this Monday, January 24, the opportunity to introduce you… the Kangoo Jump, an unusual fitness activity, now arrived in Dijon!

Born in Argentina, also developed in Greece, the discipline has established itself in other countries before gradually reaching France during the year 2021.

A mix of strength training and dancing

The Kangoo-Jump corresponds to the company that left its name to the practice carried out with large shoes and spring soles. An original fitness session, the first took place this Sunday, January 23 at the gym “MyFiit” at Fontaine-lès-Dijon. 13 participants wanted to discover the activity, supervised by Magalie, sports coach, who imported the already very popular practice from Montpellier. It now intends to set up the Kangoo-Jump in Dijon.

For an hour, the participants followed the movements of their coach of the day, through a choreography in several stages. A very physical rehearsal, which allows “to lose up to 1,000 calories” ! The hour-long session mixes strength training, dancing, and “it’s the whole body that works” according to the participants.

One class per week for now?

At first glance, a Kangoo-Jump session pulls especially in the thighs and calves : it should ”3 sessions to get used to it completely”. And if the first session in Dijon only attracted women, the activity is also offered for men.

First in the test phase, the Kangoo-Jump session will normally be offered once a week at the My Fiit gym in Fontaine-lès-Dijon. To subscribe, the room offers for example a card of 10 lessons or per session, alongside the classic annual subscriptions.
