The Joué FCT-da Fonseca alliance sealed for a football academy in Touraine

In the weeks and months to come, the Joué-lès-Tours club could undergo some changes: a new name to match its ambition, the FC Tours Played Metropolis. New partnerships, in particular with the TVB. And new faces, like those of Guillaume Barré, former deputy president of the TFC, as well as Roman and Omar da Fonseca. By relying on the already existing structure, the newcomers intend to make this R1 club the benchmark for football in Touraine : “Omar da Fonseca is an ambassador of choice, who will make it possible to provide the means necessary for the evolution of the club” details Guillaume Barré, at the origin of the project. “And the partners will come, there is no doubt, because they are people who want to participate in this social and solidarity economy”.

The academy: an educational and sporting project

Because in the idea, the FC Tours Joué Métropole will not be just a simple football club: it will be an academy, that is to say a structure that is both sporting and educational. And it is for this reason in particular that the project finds a certain resonance here, in Joué-les-Tours: “For years we have been developing young teams, women’s teams, adapted sport”, explains Eric Bédoyan, the current president of Joué FCT. “It is therefore essential that these new means benefit everyone : if there is a physio for the boys, he will also take care of the girls. If we set up a nutrition program, it will concern everyone. It’s in the DNA of the club.”

National objective

In addition, this project will allow the women’s and men’s teams to see further, from a sporting point of view, than the R1 where they currently play: “For both teams, we had reached the limits of our possibilities” continues Eric Bedoyan. “This academy is the possibility for our girls and our boys to take a new step”. FC Tours Joué Métropole aims to achieve a national level within five years.
